Playing music from my phone while plugged in = noise
When I have my 12v phone charger plugged in, and play music out of my 3.5 audio jack into my IS250's AUX input, I get a lot of RPM dependent high pitch noise coming into the stereo along with it.
Would a simple 12v low pass filter rectify this? Or is there something more that I need? Is there a simpler fix?

I have tried a couple of different charging/aux cable combos and only one hums. The Kensington 2 in 1 cable. Oddly this is the cable I prefer over the Griffin iTrip Dual Connect, but with the Griffin I get zero engine noise, while with the Kensington I hear buzzing in the background. Not sure why one cable buzzes and the other doesn't.

ive been seeing this problem out of toyotas in general for years. while it is true, buying a better cable is worth it, there are a number of reasons/fixes.
1. due to the lack of shielding of the 12v socket, the AUX line is subject to interference. i.e. engine/altenator whine.
-fix : unplug your charger and test it to see if you have the same effect.
2. a cheap walmart cable also lacks proper shielding of the AUX line and is subject to the same interference.
-fix: buy a better cable
-fix: attempt to try your cable in another vehicle thats not a toyota. if the problem happens again, see the above fix.
3. some toyotas/lexus are just weird.....lol.
-fix: purchase an aftermarket integration unit. i have the same issue. tried re-shielding the 12v socket and check to make sure it wasnt my aux cable and due to my discount....bought an isimple integration unit. the install was simple for me and now i dont have to worry about anything else as far as interference due to it plugging right into the oem radio. (though i cant for the life of me remember the model #).
as a side - all makes have a few problems but it seems like toyotas and nissans in general see this issue more than any other vehicle as per my numerous encounters.
let me know if I can help in anyway. it is my area of knowledge lol.

i dont have an iphone (android) but I have an ipod and yes it does display the artist and title of the song under the text setting and allows you to skip track forward and backward via steering wheel controls. which is what i wanted. but its not as interactive as a car-puter and is rather simple in display terms but it does allow you to search artist/genre/track/ect however it is smaller font. Ill try and take a few screen shots when i get off work for the day if you want. finally it will charge the iphone too! it also has an AUX line you can install for other MP3 devices.
caution: if you currently use/have sat radio, it will disable it.

that model is since outdated but there is a more current replacement. only hang up is that when searching for artist/alb/ect.....all you get is that tiny display. so linkin park displays as Linki or Linkin. gl
