Default ES300 CD Changer to Aux In

Hi,
I realize this is a common topic, but I happened upon a product, found here: http://www.tss-radio.com/products/toy-aux2-1 , which is meant to convert the CD changer pins for a toyota. I figured this would work for the '97 Lexus ES300 since mine came prewired for the CD Changer, but without the changer itself. Anyone know for sure if this is compatible? Thanks for any advice.

I don't remember anyone asking this question since maybe 2004. I don't see your 97 ES300 on the compatibility list. I do remember people trying similar aux-in products meant for the Camry on a late 90's ES and finding that they did not work. The CD port connect has the right number of pins and configuration and plugs into the ES300 CD port but it still did not work due to the pins having a somewhat different usage on the ES.

I have a similar Soundgate aux-in converter plugged into the CD port of our 98 Camry's radio but I bought it (about $15 from Electrogalaxy) only to easily tap into the radio's mute pin so that a phone kit automatically mutes the radio when a phone call is in progress.

Thank You. Currently leaning towards an aftermarket hu.

your 97 es 300 is wired for direct plug in of factory changer. the plug is plugged into a dummy plug mounted on ac evaprotor behind the glove box. the factory changers were made in japan and most are still working 14 years later. thats more than you can say for todays aftermarket equipment which hardly can make it to their 1 year warranty. so be sure to get the extended warranty when you buy that aftermarket junk. so it will at least last 2 years before coughing up more money.

Hello Lexusaudio, I have a 2001 with the factory cd changer in place and was wondering if the Toy-AUX2 would work if I unplug the cd changer from the back of the factory radio and plug the Toy-Aux2 in place of it? Thanks.

Here is the Toy-Aux2 I am looking to buy:
