99 GS400 Aftermarket HU Reception Problem

Guys,

I was hoping someone could shed some light on this subject. I have a 2nd gen GS400 and I have an Apline aftermarket head unit installed and all and my FM reception is terrible. I see that there are 2 antenna jacks but the head unit has one.

I was thinking about getting a splitter/joiner adapter to see if that fixes.

try replacing the oem antenna with an aftermarket unit...

correct.. so u unplug the oem antenna from the radio an mount the new 1 on the inside of the front windshield an plug it into the oem radio antenna port an tie it into antenna turn on lead....

The two things that look like antennas are not both antennas, one is the antenna and one is the power for the stock head unit. Do you by any chance run HID fog lights or aftermarket HID lights anywhere on the car?
