Default Lexus IS350, installing sub/amp.. please look inside

So I just picked up (1) JL 10inW7 and powering it with a JL 1000/1 amp. I want to keep my stock head unit because I don't really want to go aftermarket deck because it looks more classy this way..

1) Would my highs and lows sound ok? Would the overall setup sound okay?..
2) IF its not okay, then would a speaker amp help out at all?
3) would my bass sound nice and tight with the stock head unit? Does the head unit even matter for tight bass-ness?

Anyone have this set up or something similar in their IS? Please share your experience with me.. Thank you

Everyone has their opinion about that.

1. Your stock speakers will not change. Do they sound OK now? If yes, it should sound overall, OK if you aim for a balanced sound. With that sub and amp, you can easily overpower your factory speakers.
2. Maybe an amp and new speakers.
3. The stock head unit can sometimes have EQ and filters that limit the sub output. That keeps people from ruining their stock sub. Adding an aftermarket sub like this will still have limiters in place and won't allow the sub to reach its full potential. Also, the enclosure has a huge impact in the sound of a sub. Was this built to JL specs? Just because a "professional" built it doesn't mean they knew what they were doing. It means they were paid to build it.

Simplicity In Sound from California does a lot of IS work and posts at DIY Mobile Audio. Here's an couple of examples.
