Lexus Link Error
Hi All,
I just got my LS430 this week and although I love it, I keep getting a Lexus Link "error". The dealer says that the spare battery "dry Cell" just needs to keep charging and the error will go away in about 2 weeks.
Why am I getting the feeling that he might not be truly focused on the problem here? Might it be that it should take less than 2 weeks to recharge the batteries on a Los Angeles Class Sub?
Would anyone have any ideas on this?

Here is what the Repair Manual says about Lexus Link battery.
DTC Check
Repeatedly turning ON and OFF the ignition switch 3 times within 15 sec. while pressing "Play" or "VOLUME+" allows the system to enter the diagnosis mode. In this mode, diagnosis is informed by a voice.
Check the back-up battery - Diagnostic trouble code 5 (DTC5)
"Check: With the ignition switch ON or the engine running, check whether or not this DTC is output again after several hours."
This indicates it does not take longer than a couple hours for the back-up battery to recharge.
It goes on to say "If the battery is normal and recharged with the ignition switch ON, the DTC will be cleared."
Only other option listed in the inspection procedure is to check for open and short circuit in the wire harness and connector between mayday ECU and back-up battery. The mayday assembly and back-up battery are located under the rear dash right side (access from trunk). The back-up battery has one nut holding what appears to be a battery case next to mayday unit and closest to center of the car.
