Default Help needed: nav dvd drive is kaput

'06 LS 430. My nav system started intermittently giving an error on the screen that it couldn't read the dvd. Now, it won't read the dvd at all. Tried to eject the disc in case it was just dirty or something and all the unit would do is give multiple thunks!
I took the nav unit out of the trunk (85841-50090) and took it apart to get at the dvd drive (DVS-3010, apparently replaced later by DVS-3150) and the disc is *really* hung up in the drive! I can't find any way to get that disc out of there. There are two vertical arms in the way and they will -not- be moved.
So the first problem is to get that disc out without completely destroying the drive unit.
Secondly, does anyone know the pinout of that flat cable that connect the drive to the black box? I'd like to replace the drive with a solid state disk so this never happens again.
Failing that, can anyone tell me where to get the drive mechanism? There are some available from a vendor in the Netherlands but total cost is over $300 to get it here. <sigh> And I still can't get this nav dvd out of this drive.

Help, please.
Thanks,
David
