Default Is the JL Audio CleanSweep what I need?

Hello Guy's and Gal's.

I am starting to look into adding an aftermarket Sub\Box\Amp.

I have the ML audio (04 GS)and want to keep all the factory interior speakers running from the factory amp. I (think) we have a separate amp for just the sub?

My goal is to not cut into the factory audio harness to get the line outputs to the sub amp.
I may want to revert back to stock if I have another child and need the space in the trunk.

Is this possible with the JL unit?
If not is there anything out there that will be plug and play?
This will be a simple build also so nothing pro audio\competition is needed.

Thank all~
Jake

Even the clean sweep will require you to splice into your factory harness. You have to get your signal from somewhere! LOL

I know very little about car audio.. ^ I see. Thanks.

Is there a LOC that plugs into the factory harness so you don't have to splice it or is that the only way, like in this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...ss-ml-sub.html

Could I run this and still keep the stock sub.. or is that not recommend?

Cool

First off, you don't "revert back", you revert. If you revert back, you make a circle.

B, I'm confused. Why do you want to convert the signal AND keep the stock sub? Are you trying to upgrade to an aftermarket sub or subs?

If you read through the very thread you linked to, it describes how to connect the LOC to get the signal, and the products I generally recommend.

The car has a single DSP/amp running the system. This is the most efficient way to get just the sub signal - no need to spring for a CleanSweep unless you plan on doing a full upgrade later on. If you do, you can still spend $20 for one of the LOC's recommended now, and it's not a lot of money to chase later if you decide to do the full on upgrade. Either way, I highly recommend simply cutting into the sub wires near the factory sub, use quality connectors, and integrate that way. If/when you decide to have another chirren, you simply cut the new connector/wire out, splice the factory wires back together, put the factory sub back in place, and call it a day.

I gotya.. thanks for the explanation Big Mack.

I researched LOC's the ones you recommended and others.
What do you guys think of this. I feel that the remote option is good for me as a beginner?

Any drawbacks?

That unit is only rated for 60 watts max. Use either of the ones I recommended, they are rated for much more and won't destroy your wallet.
