Question Is there a DIY for the SL2iC

Hi there,

I just got bought the SL2iC wanted to do the install myself, but couldn't find a DIY using the search function.
For the guys that installed the 2 units, where is everyone mounting the units themselves and running the cable harnesses.
Any input would be great as I really don't want to muck this up

thanks in advance

seems like you have is250? when you pop the shift plate, right to the side of the shifter box, there should be space, and i think that should be doable to put the two boxes there (of course protected and insulated)?

Yes, its a 2006 is250 awd . Thanks for the info.

When you say protected and insulated, do you mean that area is? or do you mean i should insulate it with something. Also how did you mount it? Did you tape the 2 units with double sided tape or something?

Btw, you're reviews are great especially the youtube, really makes it clear.

thanks

thanks, glad to help

when i said insulation, i mean on the units themselves. otherwise they are going to hit and rattle with the shifter box, etc... so probably need some foam or felt type materials around. that area should be pretty tight and just enough to fit the box, so it's kind of snug in there by themselves, hopefully

One more question. When you guys route the cable in the armrest,do you have to drill a hole down or is there a better way?

thanks again

look at the bottom of the armrest console, there is a trap door. should make it a lot easier to route
