Default Top 6.5" component on a budget

Looking to step into the realm of car audio freaks. But damn, theres so many options and its making my head hurt. My budget is $150, and I'm looking for a good 6.5" component speaker. Please help and list what you would recommend. Ive been hearing good things about the Image dynamic ctx65cs. What do you guys think?

Is there any way for you to go to a local audio shop to listen to various brands? That would be the best way to go.

I kid you not..Phoenix Gold RSD6.5cs. They run about 40$ new(used to sell for 100$)..Do your research. no joke...

I didn't believe it until I bought them and tried them out. Phoenix Gold back in the day was a really good company, then they were sold, and their products were not the greatest. They were just bought out with new owners 1.5 years ago, and since then the new owners are thoroughly benchmarking and designing great speakers and products trying to revive the name.

They give "decent" mid-bass, but they shine more so with SQL. If you are looking for Heavy hitting, Hard thumping mid bass then these are not for you. You may want to check out peerless(Peerless 830946 SLS 6.5" Woofer - 4 ohm ), morel, SEAS, and just about most of the 6.5" stuff from www.madisound.com. Just remember that there is many times a trade off. "Generally" the more harder hitting speaker/woofer's don't have the clearest quality outside the bass/mid bass realm.

I was in shock after installing mine. There was even a member here on the boards (the guy I sold my aristo taillights to as well) who said the are pretty damn nice too.. all for 75$ new from online.

I have mine mated with the tweeters from my infinity kappa perfect(infinity 65.9CS tweeters can be considered bright by some) component set that I also bought(190$). Although the infinity's are good(7/10) the RSD's sound way clearer(8.7/10) for less than half the price.

The tweeters the RSD's come with are good, but here are higher end tweets that are much better.(I plan to use these elsewhere in the car..maybe in rear with my infinity 6.5's and my 2-peerless 6.5"s)

Oh.. If you are looking for some MB quarts I have the DWE130's(2 of them without tweeters, but crossovers included) and DCE110's(2 way speaker with passive crossover). they are ready to be drilled into the factory 1GS300 speaker pods.
I can take pics if need be.
I'll let the front and rear go for 50$ complete. I saw a good deal and jumped for it, but this is not the route I want to take with my multimedia system.

Let me know if you need any help, or want pics of anything.
