Just installed Vlad's Video-Nav I
I received the test unit called Video-Nav I from Vlad last Friday and get it installed on Sunday. Now I can play DVD and Navigation on the factory Nav screen with no problem.
The installation took about 3 hours, but I brought the wrong RGB cable that will not work at all. But with helped from Vlad over the phone and e-mail, no problem. I have to cut the Pioneer RGB connector and rearrange the pins and that the hardest part cuz all the pins are so tiny.
The equipments I used is Pioneer GEX-P7000TV, Blaupunkt DVD-ME1( for now) and the Vedio-Nav I . No mods require and the instruction is real simple. If you look on Vlad last thread a few month ago, he have to open the GEX and do some mods to make it work as a stand alone unit. The Video-Nav I take care of that. Vlad wants to test this unit to make sure it will work and everythings is handmade. I don't know how much time he'd spend on this project, but definately he the man. Thanks again Vlad.

How much was VLAD's kit? would a different TV unit work or is it setup for only the pioneer system? would it be possible to somehow use the HKS Camp system? thanks

The trunk covers have to come out just to run 3 wires. One is for the remote eye for the Video-Nav I, one for the DVD and the last for the Pioneer GEX so you can swicth the output from DVD, TV tuner, rear camera monitor and Lexus Nav. system.

No cost yet because this is a test unit to make sure it will work and I think it only work for the Pioneer for now. But I'm sure Vlad will have something new coming soon.

I think you need to change a configuration on the dvd player. Your nav screen is a widescreen display. American Pie (1 and 2) which you are showing is a 1:85 aspect ratio. On a widescreen display, you should see no black lines. Not only this, but you can tell that the people in the movie are 'squished'. Change the setting and it will be much bigger (tell it you have a 16x9 display). Some movies will still have black bars, but these movies are generally of the 2.35 aspect ration (the matrix, amoung others). Try it out and let us know how that looks...

Thanks for the advised. This is the Pie 2. Jim and One time at band camp. I adjusted it at 16:9 ratio. I've tried another movie, but some of them are widescreen edition. Here the pic. after the adjustment.

Here is more pic. when I installed it. The 2 black connectors come with Video-Nav I and you bypass the Nav ECU. Then the black connectors go into the Vedio-Nav I.
