Default vss wire location

i have a 2001 gs 430 and installing a pioneer avic-z120 and need the color and location of the vss wire for my navigation hook up..

The wire you're looking for is purple/white. It's in the driver kick panel at a module called the "Power Steering ECU", right in the middle of the driver kick panel and the ABS module.

i know there is an input for one, but I don't think you're required to wire up the VSS on pioneer units. it should tell you speed based off the nav antenna. have you tried using the unit without the wire hooked up?

i've used it without hooking it up with my D3 but i figured for the new radio i would try to make it more accurate..thanks for the info bout the location
