Just installed a pioneer stereo monitor dvd/cd i just plugged in rc jack that came with the wiring harness kit.,I was going to order the metra speaker plug but did not....everything works but when the volume is turned down there is a humm thru the speakers now...,????
Yeah i hooked it up to the stock harness ground. I started the engine and i have the whine thru the speakers....Do i have to hook up a external ground to make this go away???

First of all, yes its a bad ground. To fix it, run your own ground. Just get a self taping screw, 6" of 16 ga. wire and ground it to somewhere metal.
No, you either have a bad ground or ran a power cable too close to the RCA cable. The noise is electrical interference coming from the alternator speeding up as engine speed rises.
I had the same issue even with an extra ground, it did help, but still had some noise. I ended up having to use loop isolaters to get rid of the noise.

What are loop isolaters? Where do they go and where do i get them?? I can't deal with the noise....Thanks,
Did you guys run RCA cables on one side of the car and the power cable on the other. General rule of thumb the two cables should be around 12 - 18 inches apart.
I have that noise so bad in my car I have two amps and a Pioneer double din (pretty old still has a tape deck) But I am sure its a combination of bad ground, wires ran too close together, and crappy install. Gonna have to re-wire my entire system because I got the car like that I rather know whats going on than just doing a trial and error method of fixing it. But funny thing is I have an extra set of floor mats front and rears, when I throw them on top of the amps I get no interferance music sounds crystal clear?????weird?????

The RCA cable is kind of close to the power cable. I'll take a look at it tomorrow. My shop that installed it couldn't get rid of the sound.
