if you did a search on the forums you'd find that there is no aftermarket wiring harness available for the sc300/sc400. its been asked so many times. you have to hard wire the headunit in.

What does hard wire mean? I'm new to the whole aftermarket stereo ordeal.

hardwire [v]: cut the harness, splice in your own connectors.

Well I just installed a stereo with the Metra 70-8112 amp intigration wiring harness direct fit to vehicle female socket "A" with original amp. everything besides the sub works (installing new sub amp and subwoofer.

The Metra Metra 70-1761 comes with 2 wire harness, the larger wire harness is a direct fit to Socket D for the sub. you get both of this and there is no need to cut your oem wire harness which should never be cut, if there is an alternative.

That used to be true, but Metra released both a wiring harness and a dash kit back in early 2009. I have the wiring harness installed in my car.

I also used the 70-8112 wiring harness as well. I took my stock subwoofer out so I wasn't sure if it still worked with the wiring harness.

So if you combined the two harnesses together it should all work(factory sub and amp)
