Default does ML plays DVD-R's?

there is an online program which lets you put audio either wav or mp3 on a dvd so you can play them on a home dvd player. so this lets you put a couple thousand mp3's or several cd's of music on dvd with no compression. This way there is a lot less changing of disks.

the dvd I created works on my home dvd player but not on the ML.

so does the ML play recordable DVD-R's? not a big deal if it does not just wondering

thanks

That depends on which ML system you have. If you have one that plays DVD movies, then it can play DVD Audio (you need software like Cirlinca to create the DVD-A).

My understanding is that the ML system will only read MP3 and WMA files from CD media. If you want to use DVDs for audio playback you can either use a DVD video to listen to the soundtrack while driving, or use DVD Audio disks.

I have the HD Audio Solo software from Cirlinca that joeyb mentioned and it is working great for me. I especially like the ability to upsample and remix the source to provide up to six discreet channels. It obviously can't remaster the original recording but for well mastered CDs you can get some really nice results. I like taking high quality, 2 channel CDs and creating DVD Audio disks with 4 channels at 96khz/24 bits. If you don't want to upsample or add channels you can always author DVD Audio disks at CD quality. The DVD Audio spec supports up to 99 tracks per group and up to 9 groups per disk and given that you have 4.7 GB instead of 700 MB to work with, you can get a lot more music on each disk. You can also incorporate still pictures (up to 20 per track) that can be displayed during audio playback.

Of course, the still picture display will only work if you have the parking brake on -OR- have an override installed to get rid of the motion lockout.
