I have 97 SC400 with Nakamichi system.
and the main amp just got soaked and died because the drain tube from the fuel inlet was disconnected and flooded the area right by the amp and cd changer.
my cd changer survived but amp did not.
it was right after i replaced broken door speakers too.

my question is, can i use the stock head unit with aftermarket amp?
if not, with aftermarket head unit and amp combo, is it worth tapping into the factory wiring instead of running my own?
seems like a lot of ppl gets noise when using non factory wiring. and i had noise problem before with another car when i did the audio wiring.

if with littile work and i can get the factory wiring to work with my aftermarket amp and head unit, i would probably try that, but i haven't found the nak system wiring info, only pioneer wiring.

good news, fortunately, after a night of drying the amp, it came back alive. yay
i just need to replace rear speakers that are probably cracked, and add aux input.
