Default Anything better than JL for the price?

Right now im getting built a custom enclosure and amp rack for my IS350. Equipment so far is 2 JL 10W6V2 and JL 1000.1 V2. Just wondering is there anything out there that is better than JL that is comparable to the price?

JL is a mainstream name they are good but not the best. It depends on your pocket and what you type of sound you are going for.

going for a good sound quality for about the same budget as JL. So basically budget is looking to be at like $350 per sub and about $800 on an amp....

Ah..the great JL audio debate. The w6v2 line of subs is one of the best subwoofers ever made. There are other high end manufacturers out there who build "better" quality subwoofers, but your talking about a whole lot more money for not alot of difference. The slash series line of amplifiers are basically the same way. I've had them all, Zapco, Audison, Mc...........you name them and for the money the slash series always worked well. I've got three older slash amplifiers that are at least eight years old that I've never had a problem with. With the equipment out there today most things involve someone being able to do the install correctly. Right subwoofer enclosure along with correct wiring for the amplifier etc.

The JL line is good but here are some others to consider.

One of the best that I have ever heard....

you can check out sundown amps. you can find really good deals on them from time to time. i paid 400 bucks for my SAZ-15000D it does work. they also sell the SAZ-1000D for 350 bucks right now. looking at what you want Fi also carries a Q line which is all SQ. those sit at 250 bucks each.

i use to do the whole jl thing. they are good no doubt. but the price ant feeling it. theres to many smaller companies out there doing way better work.

Wierdazndu,

What kind of box are you getting made? ported, sealed? I have 2 10w6's running on a 1000/1v2 in my gs. The shop made a ported box firing through the rear deck.

It'd be damn hard to find a sub better than the w6v2. Theres only so many of them out there, but they'll cost around the same, if not more. One thing though, JL's support is top notch.

Wierdazndu, I have almost the exact setup as you but 10W7-2 and same amp from a few years ago. Best purchase for the money and the sound is still tight. (Not the slang term.)

JL is sort of like the Rolex, its the standard that just exists. There's better out there for SQL or SPL depending on what you're going for. I was sold on it when I brought in my own CD with some classical orchestra and some heavy bass music into several stores car audio stores. I kept picking the JL speakers. The thing that did do it for me is their customer support I had some problems and they asked to talk directly with the store and it was resolved on the spot it was pretty cool.
