OEM head unit issues....
So I've had this 96 sc300 for about a year now.
Radio has always worked without issue. Recently when the car is nice and cold first thing in the morning. I get in and flip the radio on. Works as it should but....
Once the car starts to warm up 3-5 min later the reception starts crapping out. The stereo indicator on the dash is full strength I don't think it's a antenns issue. I did check all the antenna connections behind the head unit and at the antenna itself. They are all connected properly.
As the car warms up more it's more noticable. Almost like the unit is over heating. I have my Ipod tapped into the tape player and this works fine. It's only the radio that fades in and out.
This fading in and out is almost rythmic like interferance of somesort. It's not like the FM radio signal is cutting out. More like the drive through fast food speakers and crappy cell phones losing reception cutting out completly for half a sec. then coming back....then cutting out etc....
Any ideas? I'm stumped.... [/
