Default Need Advice On Sub Location 2GS

This is weird for me , Ive never been in or owned a car with an aftermarket sub that the rear seats didnt fold down. Now I have a 2nd Gen Gs300 and seats dont fold and theres a big space between the trunk and even the back of the seat (probly a good 3-4feet?)! I want the full force of the bass in the cabin can anyone tell me how it sounds if its in the trunk..

*Im a BassHead, I mean I have options but is there a way to fire through the cabin so it doesnt look f'd up if i ever go to sell the car b/c ive seen people cut the leather between the armrest...
Anyone take the stock sub out and make a port firing through the hole?

Pics, videos just to give me an Idea...

in the second gen my friend put in 2 12w3v2 and made it fit in that little space your talking about, and built a face panel on top. it was pretty loud in not sure how loud you want it to be. can always go with 1 12w7 or something.

Any pics of it?
Well im probably going to get a 12 Alpine Type X
Although my friend is trying to talk me into getting a 15 Type R or a damn 18 Fi,
Im not getting anything bigger than a 15. I love that Type X though.
I just want to feel all the bass as if my seats were down.
Anyone?

Porting it through the hole?
I dont think a Type X would be very good Free Air.

Thumbs up

If you port it through the hole, you have essentially created a huge bandpass, and it's going to sound like a one note wonder.

If you run two 12's in the rear facing backward and leave the hole just open, you will be able to hear them very well. If you want to make it stealth and keep the trunk semi-functional, you can always slot load them against the floor, with the "port" facing toward the rear. I've done this in a lot of the cars that have tanks underneath the trunk, and it's plenty loud so long as you build a good box and have some good juice. I'm not talking a nuclear reactor either. I don't believe the hype of needing 1Kw to control a sub - I know better.

take ur stock sub out and use that as a port. it sounds good the box is sealed its 2 12" type r's. its currently on stock radio, waiting on $ to get her a iva505 w/ nav addon, when that setup was in my car it was loud as ****, there was so much pressure inside the cabin of the car u should see my roof moving.. if you put something on my roof like a cell fone or a wallet it would jump aroudn like jumping beans
