Default Tape deck playing at half the volume?

So this happend a while ago but ... I was driving and trying to change songs on my ipod when I shifted into third and it smacked into the stock head unit. Now when I use the tape deck (tape adapter) it plays at half the volume that it use to, its not the actual cassette cause I tested another and it still played at half way, I'm guessing it could be the tape deck itself but ... not sure. Radio plays at normal volume. There's also a really annoying whistling when I accelerate, faster I go, the higher pitch the whistling gets, anyone got an idea whats going on? This only happens when using the deck

People use the tape for an adapter to use IPOD/MP3 players since the factory unit has no aux. input and its better sound quality than an FM modulator.

Analog for lyfe y0! Hi-fidelity is the shizzle

I'm using a tape adapter until I find a nice double din navi with aux input with decently fast GPS and HD radio
