Default Upgrade component speakers on my 3gs

What's up everyone...I want to upgrade my speakers in my '06 GS300 (non-ML). What component speakers are out there that will give more bang for my buck? Or Am I better off upgrading the amp? Or do both? Thanks.

Speakers are the weak spot. I was never one for "bang for the buck" in terms of speakers...always reached for top shelf. Dynaudio. Expensive, but once when you go for them, you'll never go back...and I've listened to MANY different brands. MB Quart, Infinity, Polk, Diamond audio, ads...etc etc.

Is this also true for the Mark Levinson setups?

I am shopping for a new GS350 with the Mark Levinson system. To be honest, I'm really a bit underwhelmed with the sound quality on the Mark Levinson systems I have listened to. I think that the BMW's with the L7 System sound a lot better.

I don't want to blow the bank, but I will want to do a targeted upgrade so that I can get that Mark Levinson system up to par.

Is the upgrade to quality speakers my best bet here?
