Where have you run your wires?
Installed my speakers, amps, sub and power cap yesterday, and wondering where you all ran your speakers?
I ran the power cable down the left side of the car,and ran the RCA's,and speaker wiring along with the remote turn on through the middle.
I've got that stupid alternator whine, but i know why as i used the battery for ground so i'm guessing that explains that.
Going to try some other locations tomorrow and see what happens.
Now,the other thing,i used this conversion plug :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC2-93-4-Lexus...3A1|240%3A1318
and i've spliced the speaker wires from the amp into the wires that correlate to the speaker, right right speaker from amp to rear right speaker on ISO plug.
When the amp was turned on,i only got the front right, and rear left speaker working, and had the stupid whine.
I looked at the conversion plug, and it looks like the speaker wire for the front left door on the stock wiring connects in a different spot on the conversion plug?
Any ideas?
And my amp also may be blown to makes matters worse, hopefully a blown fuse like before but wont know till daylight,
Sorry for the long post,
Emil
ps- Alpine Type-R Components sound sweet!!!

Its been a while since my install, but i believe that i ran my power and remote down the right side of the car, and the 2ch and 4ch RCAs down the driver's side. It's Been installed for over a year now, and NO WHINING!!!

I have a question. Is your real life name emil? If so how do you pronounce it.
Also on my old car i ran the power wires on the left side underneath the carpet and the speaker wires/rca on the right right side, underneath the carpet.
On my current sc i'll just run both through the center console.

i've changed the ground for the headunit and EQ from the battery to a screw in the dashboard.
And the amps + power cap are grounded to one of the holes where the original sub mounted to.
so far no more whining noise, however that was coming from an amp that now has a blown capacitor so got to get that fixed before i can find out if i've solved the problem or not

headunit is Alpine iDA X001,with Alpine Type R components in all 4 doors, powered by a shark amp,and an Alpine Type R 12" sub within a custom box, that is powered by an In Phase IP900 amp.
the amp's are both connected to one power cap,and i've got a Boss EQ which everything is finally connected to
going to see how much its going to cost to repair the amp later today
