is300, oem deck, amp(adding sub)
ok, so on all my other system installs ive always replaced the deck with a nice alpine and run the stock speakers off another amp, and run rca preout from the back of the alpine into the amp for the subs....pretty simple
for my is300(2002) i want to keep all oem installed. but just add my kicker subs and RF amp. on my.is someone mentioned modifying the amp to have rca outs...but never really showed how.
so my next step would just be to go by a line level converter, patch into the 6x9's and that would give me the rca output im wanting for the sub amp.
*here is my question. if i go buy a LLC and splice into the rear 6x9's will i loose their functionality? i wouldnt think so, but im not sure how screwy our audio systems are in the is300's.
any recommendations for the LLC? i want something i can bring up to 6v-8v for a clean signal.

It will work fine, but keep in mind, if you tap the wires from the left speaker, every time you fade your balance to the right, your sub will fade out as well. I don't know if is300s have stock subs, but that's where I tapped mine from.
Also, if your amp accepts hi level inputs then you don't need an LLC.
My first cheapie LLC burnt out (literally) for some reason. I bought a Scosche one from Crutchfield and it works perfect.
