i bought a metra double din for my LS.. the holes for my ashtray to click into are plastic and they keep bending everytime i try and make it click.. so now, my gap's no longer there but i got my ashtray that won't stay.. not a great trade off
do you sc guys have something wrong with your metra kit?

For some odd reason the ash tray won't open now without some serious persuasion after I installed the kit. Now that I think about it, I think the plastic tabs at the bottom are too wide and the ash tray lid is rubbing on the kit. I can open it, but it takes two hands now.

I ordered my single yesterday so that I can put the interior back together. My only "issue" is that I see a line under all the kits for the ashtray. Is that for the lid to go in? Just looks a little out of place.
I might put felt on the top "like a front load CD player" to conceal it a little. I will have to see how it looks.

There is a gap when you install it but it can be fixed very easily. When I installed mine I noticed I could still see under the kit. If you look at my thread here: (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...talled-sc.html) you can see what I did to fix it. It was very easy to do and now you don't see anything.
The kit has some flaws but nothing that can't be corrected.
