Default Kenwood/Garmin Navigation Update disc?

I have the Kenwood DDX6019 HU for about 3 years now & would like to update the map.
Has anyone update their navigation map & is it worth the update?
Also, where would be a good place to purchase the update disc online for a good price?

Thanks.

I've got the DNX7100 for a year now and was wondering the same thing... its $99 for a map upgrade but it doesn't tell you much more than that... mine would on an SD card...

Hey djspawn00, my navigation unit use the SD card to update as well. It totally slip my mind don't know why I was thinking disc.

I still have not found a place to purchase it as of yesterday I was looking on Ebay which has it for much cheaper.

Your right about the limited info on the City Navigator North America NT SD data card update. I am sure there is no major change to the unit but more POI added and maybe one or two new routes.

If you have not done it already you should try to update the software of your navigation which is free from Garmin.

Let me know your progress w/ this...
Just a thought... I believe you can use that SD card to update multiple units, so maybe we can split the cost?

I've updated my firmware as few months back, but I've have not updated my maps as of yet. I've heard some complaints about the updates... the only one concerning me is that my GPS will no longer say the street names. I don't know if that is a definite issue or if that was the problem faced by one user. I was going to try to contact garmin this week and inquire about it. If we can use the same SD card on multiple units I'd definitely be down for splitting the cost but I'd also suggest we look into this as well... I guess I'll ask garmin about that also with the hypothetical question.

Also, would you use the same part number? I would need Part Number: 010-10679-11

I don't think the people at Garmin are gonna like our idea... i did some googling and found this...

http://shop.garmin.com/cartography/mapsource/policy.asp

unless you know someone that can crack this software it looks like we'll probably have to both cough up some cash... I sent them and email anyway, maybe they'll be nice to kenwood customers.

What kind of navi. unit do you have? One of the HD-based KNA-G's? ...or the older DVD-based navi's?

EDIT: I see that youve stated that is uses an SD-card
