yeah, a while ago i tried calling that ebay seller(the one from PA) and never got anything to help me complete my order.
I dont think any1 else make those adapters - called about 10 shops around NYC.
Here's idea how handmade should look like
idea #2 - best install i've seen on CL
its pretty simple - trace the stock baffle onto MDF, cut new one. Dont forget mounting holes(i messed my first 2 DOH).

Bringing this thread back up from the grave but does anyone know where I can get the 6.5" adapters for my gs400? eBay only has one seller and he tried scamming me by taking my money, never responding, and never shipped them out. I have a dispute open on paypal right now bc of that.
I know that Elemental Designs has them, but I'm not sure if they are specific to their component sets of if they would work for your application depending on which speakers you are using.
EDIT: I found them, although I have no idea how you order for the first link.

It'll be a tight fit, my mids are 7 1/4" actual diameter with the mounting flange and 3" mounting depth. I needed 1/2 baffle with another 1/2" ring to clear the window and had to do a little grinding on the door panel behind the speaker grill to get it back on. From my experimenting, you'll want to position the speaker as far up and back in the door as you can to get the panel back on.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be using a thin piece of paper and draw out the opening with the guide or cardboard that the speaker packaging came with...then I'll look for a good position and mark them on the paper.
Next, I'll draw them out on a cardboard and install the speaker on the cardboard and mount it.
If things go right, I'll put that drawing onto 3/4 MDF. I have trouble finding 1/2 MDF but I guess I should stick with 3/4 (so much for weight savings as my original goal....atleast this 8" is lighter than the stock 4" LOL. Too bad MDF will destroy that savings).

The speaker adapters you all are calling pvc are actually made of ABS Plastic. They are cut perfectly and with some of the 3/8" stick on foam stripping they seal great against the door panel. I think the ABS adapters are 10mm thick and the speaker cutout part of 6.5" is raised a ~1/2" for clearance. I paired a set of Infinity Kappas with a nice Boston Acoustic passive crossovers that allow me to run the factory Nakamichi Tweeter as an ambient. These sound great with ~75w from a PPI amp. Oh, btw I mounted the x-overs on the back of the panel, not on the front as shown, and it fits great

I bought my adaptors from http://car-speaker-adapters.com/items.php?id=SAK002 and they worked well. I can recommend it.
