00 GS w/Nav install a flip-up single-din?
Ok I know there has not been any headway on replacing the entire double din Nav unit in the 1st gen systems because the climate controls are integrated.
However, looking at the dash the audio controls are all below the Nav unit. Has anyone ever installed a single-din flip-up in that area?

I'm seeing plenty of 98-05 GS climate control modules from non-nav cars on eBay for less than $100. Would using one of those would allow you to use a double DIN aftermarket nav? I think I've seen threads on this forum where people of done that. I know the same thing can be done on a 98-00 LS400.

There have been a lot of posts about this subject but what kills me is that none of the threads are ever completed! These guys start these projects and never post results.
