Default 10" Free-air Subs...

As you all know, we have a nice little 10" sub in our rear deck. I'm going to be changing the factory sub w/ a free-air sub. i don't want to pay extra to make a custom box...want to keep everything FACTORY...for the most part. what kind of subs have you guys used to replace the factory one?? pics of your setup would be greatly appreciated as well. thanks peeps.

when I got my car it didnt have the 10" bezel but the whole itself is 12" so you can go either size. I got a kicker C12 which is a freeair sub, but it sounded ****ty in the stock location. I recommend you go with a box for a single 12 or single 10.

my C12 sounded 10x better in a sealed box that i made myself using specs from the kicker site

oh ok, so you just remove the factory 10" sub, and leave the hole there like a port?? and just drop a sealed 12" sub underneath in the trunk space?? do you have pics of your setup?? thanks joey

no he means just a sub box laying in the trunk on top of the spare tire.

the sub that's in the car stock is a 10" sub, but the bracket that has mounting holes fills up the hole. so when you take the 10" out, you'll have a12" hole there, you'll just have to screw new mounting holes.

i'm going to be taking mine out and putting it into a sealed box, and putting it where the stock changer and amp were/are.

if you want, you can remove the rear airpurifier unit, and put the sub in tehre, and sealed up the whole trunk with some MDF, cover all the holes, and then layer it with dynamatt. and the trunk will be one big solid box

Idk what the rear air purifier is but a sealed box makes any sub sound soooo much better.
