speakers quit working but sub still works???

speakers quit working but sub still works???
all the speakers worked and then i pluged in my ipod to the cig lighter then like 2 min later all the speakers quit working except the sub. all of the speakers, amp, and head unit are still stock. does anybody have a clue where i should start looking??? fuse or blown amp...

Sounds like the amp got fried. When it goes out, all you will get is the extreme bass and you'll have to turn the volume clear up to hear even the slightest bit of music (while blowing your speakers in doing so). Not hard to replace at all. There's a write-up I did about replacing it if you search my user name.

This is an old thread, but for the record you probably just blew a fuse. Check your 15A fuse for the cig lighter in the driver's side kick panel. That fuse seems to also affect A/C control unit and speakers. That fuse is notorious for blowing when things get put into the lighter (chargers, coins, etc.)

most definately, it must the the fuse blown up, that need some checking. I also have a problem with my sound system. My audio system is still perfect though, but m worried with my CD Play mode. The discs continue scanning and never play. What might be the problem, and how can i fix that?
