TV TUNER in RX and other models
Hello Everyone,
First, I have found out that, the current japanese version of RX, the Toyota Harrier have the factory built in TV Tuner, on the Nav screen buttons we have clock button on the very right and in Harrier version it is TV button. I am very interested about adding one if I can find, anyone tried it before?
Second, I have 2006 RX 400H with rear seat entartaintment system, is there anyway to add TV tuner to the system and can be used in front screen? I have cut the speed sensor and ground the brake before and I can already make phone calls and watch DVD while driving
Thanks

tv tuners in usa dont work very well . everytime you turn corner the picture scambles. i guess in small island of japan they might work better. i have pioneer tv tuner that will play on lexus screen with adapter harness and switching box.. better would be to upgrade to 2006 rx400 cd dvd 6 disc changer that plays movies on the screen. it is plug in and play and reqires no aftermarket control box.

The FCC's current deadline for the switch from analog to high def TV is February 17, 2009 - over a year away. The deadline has been pushed back several times but I suspect that the current deadline will hold.
Cable TV companies will be required to convert HD to analog -- if you have old TVs in your home, they will continue to work just fine.
The FCC's current deadline for the switch from analog to digital cell phone service is February 18, 2008 - less than two months away and perhaps what PK_Celsior was thinking about.
