I will venture to say that this set up will work on any car. It is just a matter of finding the right wires. Also this should work on anything with a line out or headphone jack, so your Iphone should be fine.
Now for my question: I tapped the 12V wire going into the hazard light switch for my relay power. Now since I've done this, the winter cold has set in. The problem is, twice my battery has died on me after not driving for about three days; so I don't know if it is because of this set up or because of the cold. Does this relay setup drain power...does it matter which way the switch is flipped when the car is off...should I have not tapped the thick 12V (wire with power in it) wire going to the hazard light switch? Which problem is it?
Thanks.

well if the relay array is NOT being powered then no, it wont cause any drain on the battery.
when it IS powered, its drawing a MINUTE amount of power, so i highly doubt that its the array thats causing ur problem.
sounds more like a battery in its death throes from the cold.

well theoretically it will only work on cars with an external signal source feeding into the headunit.

PureDrifter,
I drew up another diagram hope you dont mind..
I'll probably do this mod for my Satellite Radios on my 98 GS300 with the Pioneer/NAV stereo. I'm currently using the cassette adaptor which sound very nice, but would prefer direct injection...

Hi all,
Just completed this integration in my 1996 LS. Works great. Big props to Puredrifter for the IM support on the wiring. Primary difference is the wiring is in the dash vs under the pass seat.
In this application you use:
pin9 White CDR-
pin10 Black CDR+
pin11 Green CDL-
pin12 Red CDL+
Also can tap the Blue/Yellow wire from pin 5. I got a few pix and will post them over the weekend. Works excellent.
I have a slightly lower volume on the input with my JVC Sirius radio, but this has been true on other applications (Audi/VW), so expect it's the receiver.

Very nice work & timely due to some Christmas gifts I received.
If anyone has a few units completed please let me know.
My soldering skills, like my eyesight have diminished over the years.
Happy 2008 all!
