Got a question for you radar gurus. Which is better, V1 or the K40? Reagardless of price. Also, how effective is the V1 when installed in the little compartment next to the cigarette lighter in the GS400. Does the V1 have to hang directly from the windshield to retain 100% effectiveness? Thanks in advance.

Mariusz,
I've responded to this question earlier (I'll go look for the post, may have been on the old EZBoard) and have the ideal test case as I have both the stealth installed K40 and a hardwired V1.
In all cases where I've run them at the same time (and also with one turned off and the other on), the V1 beats the K40 in both sensitivity for real alerts and ignoring false alerts.
I have, in the past, run my V1 sitting in the drivers seat (for example, if I were using it in VA which outlaws radar detectors) and it works OK, but isn't as sensitive. The laser detector wouldn't work at all, but IMO that doesn't really matter since if you're getting that signal, you're toast anyway.
I know Valentine sells a remote kit for the LEDs (my GF has one in her NSX) so the main unit doesn't light up, but I don't think they have remote sensors you can put in the grill like the K40 and completely hide the main unit.
