I am about to install a XM ExpressEZ with the car kit and got the kit (whatsitcallednow) FM modulator, I think (the one where you split your regular antenna up with the XM antenna).
Anyway..here's the question....does it matter WHERE I put the XM antenna (shouldn't, right). Trunk or...hood?
I just realized that it's much easier to put the antenna right inbetween the windshield washer nozzles on the hood as opposed to the trunk (where the old XM antenna was).
Any thoughts on this?

thanks
I figured as much...but in the end chose to just rip up the interior and pull the antenna to the back. It's back there now, looking good.
Figured out a neat way to install the XM Express EZ in the ashtray compartment on the center console that works really well. If anyone's interested I'll post some pics.

I am installing a Sirius Sportster 4 in my 99 LS400 with Nakamichi and it looks like from what I have read in the posts that the cassette tape option doesn't work. I was planning to do the wired FM signal since Sirius says that is a better connection than the cassette adapter which is counter to this post.
I looked at the vais tech and some of the other aux input options but it doesn't look like anything is made for the 99 LS400. Am I wrong? Is there one available? Would love to get that so I could wire my Sirius and also an Ipod.
Need some help here.

Can an older XM SKYFi Delphi Model be installed & work w/touch screen?
Before I begin, please excuse my ignorance. I know nothing about cars or satellite radio. I'm here on my husband's behalf - unbeknowst to him. For Christmas I'd like to have satellite radio installed in my husband's car. He just purchased an '06 GS300. He had a Delphi XM SkyFi Car Cradle (taken from the back of the unit) in his old car that he removed. He wants it in the new car but obviously wants it to work with his navi touch screen. I started my search online when I found this forum. Lucky for me. I'd like to know if the XM model I referenced above will work or do I need to purchase a new one? If so, which one? I'd prefer to buy it some other place than the dealer to save money. Having said that, what's a good price for the unit and the install? I figure I can at least get my husband the XM unit for Christmas and he can work with the dealer to get it installed. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your help!

I have an '01 gs430 with navi. Do I need to go to a local store and purchase an xm or sirius radio? or do I just buy http://www.vaistech.com/slx.php or..do I buy both to make it work? Im kind of confused.

Not trying to blatantly advertise here, and please let me know if I need to remove this, but we put in the vaistech xm, sirius, and ipod adapters at my dealership. I'm the tech specialist there, and would welcome any feedback on these products or anything related to the audio/nav/bluetooth systems. Just PM me. I'm not going to name my dealership, but if you want to know, just ask.

XM Traffic / XM Radio for RX?
I am interested in XM for a new 2008 RX400H with Navi.
Some questions:
1. are third party receivers available that will integrate XM Traffic with the Lexus RX navigation system with ML sound option (and of course provide OEM style integration to the XM Radio functions within the RX)? I know that XM Traffic is available for LS but not RX for some odd reason...
2. where does the dealer installed XM antenna go on an RX and what does it look like? Is it a sharkfin type antenna (body color) or something else?
