Amp Problem?

got a kenwood KAC 728s...when the bass hits in the music, the little light on the amp flickers and i hear a relay clicking inside the amp...the subs kick on the click but then shut off as the relay clicks again...any idea whats wrong??

How do you have the amp wired? Is it bridged and if so is it pushing more one sub, it sounds like the amp is engaging its protection circuit. If you bridged it make sure it does not see lower than a 4-ohm load, and if it is stereo make sure its not lower than 2-ohms.
Also check you ground location make sure all paint has been removed below the chassis ground and no longer than around 18 inches, you probably will need around 10-ga. or 8- ga. wire. for the ground and power going to the battery.

i read the manual on the amp and it seems to have entered the protection circuit. unfortunately i am selling it so im not goign to trouble shoot it. i believe the problem was caused by a faulty ground connection.
