SC Rear Speaker Upgrade to 6 1/2?
How tough is it to switch to 6 ½ inchers in the rear of the SC? I’m not pulling anything up on a conversion guide for that. Plenty of room depth wise or are there limits to specific speakers that will fit it? How big of a job is it? I’m actually pretty pleased with my stock sub – am I going to see enough improvement for it to be worthwhile to even consider? I’m 100% stock as is and have no plans to do aftermarket. I’ve got a blown rear though that is driving me insane!

Not sure what conversion guide you are talking about, but if you search there are plenty of posts on this subject, including several from me- I put in the Infinity Kappa 6.5" with few problems once I drilled some new mounting holes.

Perry,
Do you still have the stock amp with the infinity speakers? I have a nak amp. In an earlier post, somebody said the Infinity Reference or JL Evolution speakers sound good with the stock. I'm curious to see if the infinity's would work as well.
Thanks.

Hey Fast,
I installed Infinity 6002i two way in the rear location. The basket it too large to drop them into the existing cut out so I had to use a 1/2 " MDF templated to accept the Infinities. That was it, however, it took a long time for me to make those cut outs. The end result was night and day to original 4's.
The Kappa's want more power than the 6002i's and are less effecient, I'm going to pass on telling you how much they differ in final sound, I am not an audiophile in these matters.
tkafam1, I'm the guy who posted about those Infinities and they are great with the stock Pioneer "Premium" Sound amp.
