Injecting audio to 1992 SC300 Pioneer (w/o CD) head unit
I'm trying to find a way of injecting audio from my mp3 player directly into the amp of my SC300 Pioneer head unit. Does anybody know if this is possible and where the input to the amp is?
I pretty good in taking the unit apart but before doing detective work in finding the correct input and possibly blowing out the unit; I thought I do some research first.
Thanks.

I honestly have not heard of anyone doing this so I am clueless. I would be tempted to say that there is no "input" with the stock amp but good luck with your process

I want to find the line from the radio pre-amp output to the amp imput inside the unit and put a switch there to take the feed from an external source. Kind of creating an AUX input!

Use a tape adapter, and run the wire internally out the back to your MP3 player. Close the door to the tape deck to it's sealed. Put a sticker over the tape door that says "Lexus Premium MP3 Digital"
Hit the tape button when you want to hear your MP3's.
Cheap and simple (and damn clean) unless you wanted something more complicated?
Not ideal but it works. If SQ is that much of a concern for you the stock headunit wouldn't even be in the equation anyway.
