I have been reading all of the old posts on how to by-pass the securtiy settings for the LX470 Nav/DVD. What I gathered is there are 2 options.

1) You go into the nav wiring, cut and ground a couple of the safety wires and trick the system into thinking it is always in Park.

2) Purchase a wiring bypass lit from eBay and install this to accomplish the same as #1.

Does anyone know if there is a preferred way to do this? Are there any negative effects to the Nav or ability to play DVD's with these wiring tweaks?

the ebay fix just has an electronic ground for aslmost 200.00 . the grounding of the brake wire and speed sensor wire accomplishes the same thing and both are illegal in usa. there is no effect on playing dvds. i have extra dvd magazines for 20.00 shipped if you need any.
