Default ? for those of you w/ aftermarket head unit

I've got a nice set up on my sounds but am running the oem head unit radio.

I had inquired about an aftermarket cd player and they say they have to do a bypass. I dont care that they want to charge for the bypass, but that means you will not get the same response out of the factory mids and highs due to their factory installed amps, am I correct?

my system sounds amazing and I'd hate to compromise the sound quality that I'm getting simply cause I want a fancy head unit. any thaughts?

I run an old Alpine headunit 7844 with 2 15" Punch and 1000watt amp. And people always ask if i also replaced the factory speakers.....the answer is no. They do great. and as long as you have 45watts perchannel you will be just fine.

the speakers will require some kind of adapter, it just makes them sound crappier untill you get other speakers. When i got my alpine they had to do the same, but after im done installing my speakers tomorrow im going to find what ever adapter it was and remove it
