I just bought a set of MB-Quart Q-Series components (05' Model "German Made"). I was in the garage and I just finished installing the tweeters. Now I have to wait till tomorrow for Home Depot to open so I can buy some wood to finish up the custom speaker baffle I'll try to post up some step by step pix after I'm done with my project. I'm thinking of doing it a little differently and making the whole thing out of wood. Hopefull it will work out ok.

so - were these mdf baffles screwed back onto the factory boxes or were they just installed into the doors?

Clifford -- they're just screwed directly into the existing holes in the door. Here's my thread on the subject. Maybe this will help you visualize it easier:

Alright I am about to install 2 sets of the Boston Pro 6.0 in the front and rear door using the 1/4" MDF. My question is, does anyone have any pictures of the install of the speakers in the rear doors? And also, for those of you who have installed seperates in the rears, where did you mount your tweeters? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am actually going to mess with the imaging of the speakers as well. I am going to try to angle the mids just slightly to correct or lift the imaging of the front and rear speakers.

Actually one more, how did you install the tweeter in the factory location?

Thanks guys, I use to do this quite a bit way back in the day, but I really have lost touch with everything and now I am going to try to attempt to install the new door speakers in a few weeks time.

Cheers,

Yeah, I still have my photos somewhere but I will have to find them. I'll check tonight. If I cant find them, I'll take some new ones as soon as the rain clears.

It's been a while and I just got my car back from some work being done to it. I actually contacted Boston and they told me that it will be better not to run the baffle in the doors. They told me that they will have better sound if I were to also Dynamat the inside of the door to help with the rattle or sound waves. I have most of everything to install, but I am waiting on my subs, which I will be running 3 10W6V2's, and I am still trying to figure out what type of amps to run....still debating. Also, the installation for the Subs is going to be very difficult, but I am working on it with a buddy of mine who is still in the industry so hopefully soon I will be able to post up picks of the install once I have done it.

Please post pics of the install of the door speaker when you have a chance too.

Cheers,

Revhard191
