Default Tint Removal

So I was wanting to change out my tint on my 3is.

Found an awesome place to do it, but they charge $150 to remove the tint that is already on the vehicle. Is that price about right?

I checked online for removing it myself, has anyone done it? Seems pretty easy, but then again I have no idea, esp since they are charging $150.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the fast reply man!, Thats what I have been reading, steaming it doesnt leave any residue ie glue? and works on the rear window? Only thing Im worried about is the rear window because I wont be able to use a razor blade on it

steam and water are your friends. razors aren't really necessary. if you run into issues, just leave the steamer on the tough spot for a min and it'll be handled.

$150 is about what I was quoted to remove the tint. This was from the shop that does tinting for our local Lexus dealer. (My car was tinted in AZ, then shipped to OR for sale. AZ allows for darker tint which needed to be removed and re-tinted. (At dealer expense.)

A clothing steamer with a nozzle. I took off the attachment and just used the hose.
Done it before on some super old tint. Did leave behind some residue cause of age but took it off with rags of goobegone or isopropyl alcohol just fine
