Default HIDs - Poor range

Anyone feel that the HIDs have a poor range? I seldon drive on unlit highways, but I find the range to be very poor compared to my '12 Acura TSX. The cutoff is not sharp and light is a bit too warm. Unfortunately, the LED headlights are not available on F-Sport in Canada. Has anyone done a comparison with the LED headlights and has anyone done a conversion?

I have HIDs they're very bright. they're really warm and the cut-off isnt sharp.

however, on the freeway, it is really wide and can shine really far.

I think there is something on the CL forums that I read about the HIDs vs LEDs. I have the LEDs in my 350 and I actually love them. However, I think this first line of LEDs aren't as bright as the HIDs. But as LED technology keeps advancing they will get better.

From what I remember reading the IS250/350's LEDs aren't as bright as the kits on the upper level trims like the GS, etc. There's a picture on the forum somewhere that showed the comparison.

The IS has entry level projectors, but you are comparing it to some of the best available for retrofitters (the TSX).

Agreed. The headlights on my TSX were simply amazing.

Nope. Fully stock.

Wonder if changing the bulbs might help? I'm thinking about changing to Philips Ultinon D4 6200k.

+1. That said, somewhat an unfair comparison despite the IS being much newer.
