Default When will Lexus reveal the official 2016 lineup (including IS 200T)?

I'm waiting impatiently to see the new IS 200T and RC 200T but I am new to this concept (never waited for new model cars before.. always have bought Certified Pre-owned.)

Anyone know when these will be on the Lexus configurator?

I would be surprised if the turbo engine debuts in the IS this year

Ugg. I hope ya'll are wrong.

How much longer are they gonna drag out the 250 engine?

They need to retire that engine! The IS sedan is too cool for 185 lb ft torque. I really hope they get the 200T all finished by this fall. Another 100 tq is gonna make a massive difference for the entry level IS.

I mean, honestly... look at this article from over a YEAR ago! April 2014.

Yes, turbo IS is a good idea.
You can always get a 350 if you really want one now. It is faster than 200T and has no turbo lag.

I hope it's coming MY2016 as well. There's been rumors of it arriving this year, but nothing confirmed yet. The current engine in the 250 guzzles way too much gas for how much power it produces. The 200t should be a very nice improvement in both areas.

350 is nice for sure, but i'd much rather have a turbo 4 than a V6. better mileage, and better thrust. yes the 350 would beat it out in the quarter mile, but i love turbo power. the lag in modern turbo cars is very minimal. currently i have a supra turbo and love it.

If the 200T doesn't come out on 2016, you can lease a 350 until the 200T is release.
I understand with you mean.
In my previous experience with 4 cylinders with turbo, they don't really save much gas as they claim.
Especially with performance cars, you will end up pushing the car a lot and use similar or more gas than a V6.
To me, I am more interested if Lexus put a twins turbo on the V6. Like you said, it will have better mileage than a V8. It doesn't seems to happen on the 350 in a few years.

don't kid yourself current 3IS owners, IS200T will come this calendar year as the '16 model. with BMW just released the new B58 and soon B48 engines, pressure is squarely on Lexus to revamp the engine lineups. my money is on IS200T debuts this year and a more powerful IS350 next year.

fully agree. i will be totally shocked if lexus waits an entire year longer til 2017.

that would be a very bad move for their sales.

and for the record, i believe the 200T variants of the IS and RC will receive more praise and fare much better in comparisons tests than the 350 variants.

IS200T will be properly matched with 328i
RC200T will be properly matched with 428i

right now... is250 can't compete with anybody and the is350 does not have the thrust to compete with 335i and S4. like someone above said... they need to add turbo to compete with those brawlers.

and the rc 350 can't compete with 435i or S5, but add Turbo and BAM!... game changer

A lot of reviews for the nx200t aren't that favorable with regards to power and fuel efficiency. Fast enough, but of course that's subjective, and mileage has been in the low 20s for city driving. Wouldn't really call that fuel efficient. Guess we will see who's right when they announce the 2016 lineup in a couple of months if the 200t comes or not

I think Lexus aren't waiting. They are just behind the schedule.
Lexus should have change the 250 to 200T and 350 to something new with turbo at the time they release the 2014 model. Even they make the RCF to beat with the M4. BMW has already move from V8 to a 6 with turbo. Lexus is never on the top of the game at least on the performance.
I guess reliability is what holding them back. It is because a bad turbo design would lead to a lot of issues. It seems like Lexus is using NX as an experiment to test out the new turbo and engine,
It turns out NX is very successful.
I hope Lexus will make a good 200T the coming year.

plus that was a brand new powertrain, when they put it in IS200T, it would be much refined after one year of troubleshooting.
