F sport exhuast burn smell

F sport exhuast burn smell

Just had the new F sport exhaust installed on my fiancées car and it has a burning smell to it when I turn off the car. Is this normal for a new exhaust? The donut gasket is installed from the OEM exhaust and I don't see any plastic stuck on the mufflers.

Completely normal. Give it some time and the smell will stop.

Thank! I also have the F sport exhaust on my 2nd gen IS350 and never smelled like this got mine also new. Smells like plastic burning on the 3rd IS.

Normal for any exhaust that is brand new

I had exactly the same issue when installing my F sport exhaust. It had a "chemical burning" type of smell for about a week. The more you use your car the quicker it will disappear. Completely normal.
