Default Pay Toyota dealer $49.95 for oil change?

I purchased our 15' IS 350 F Sport at a dealership three hours away because we don't have one in my city. So,,, I am stuck paying for my oil changes. She just hit 5000 miles, so I called Toyota and scheduled a service for Thursday. They charge 49.95 for the service with synthetic.

What about Oil Can Henry's or Jiffy Lube??

I don't want to change it myself, as I don't have a hoist and don't want to mess with jacking it up in the garage.

What have you guys paid? Where? Ideas???

that's about the going rate. that's not a bad price coming from the dealer and they'll top off your fluids as well.

Yes if it's just oil changes... when you get to major intervals down the road I'd go to Lexus.

That's pretty cheap! My local dealer charges $120. I guess all the free coffee and etc is not free after all! Can get a free loaner though.

If they are using a decent quality 0w20 synthetic, $50 is very reasonable. The oil alone would run you $30 or more.

Please, please don't take your 3IS to jiffy lube or "Oil Can Henry's"!!!!!!!!

$49.95 is very reasonable from Toyato.
Are there any other Lexus dealer in your city?

you know...I honestly failed to realize that op said Toyota dealer...haha! when I had my is300, I did almost all of my work done at Toyota. the biggest maintenance was the timing belt and water pump...*****, even then I had them change my spark plugs all during the same visit. labor was a lot cheaper than it what is was at lexus. now I'm not sure if this (is x50) motor is used in any of the current Toyota models, but the 2jz was common to the supra (turbo and non-turbo) and sc300 so I didn't see any issue w/ my car being done at a Toyota dealer. I never saw my is300 as a lexus to begin with, but that's just me...always told everyone I drove a Toyota. but still, oil change for that price is a steal!

After the first two complementary visits, are people really planning on taking their 3IS to the dealer every 5K?

Feel like it's overkill and I plan on taking it only every 15K and get oil serviced by my mechanic. Can't rotate my tire since they're staggered anyway(wondering how long the treads will last btw).

Just as the others have already said, I would say $50 at Toyota is very reasonable. Please don't take it to Jiffy Lube or any of those other quick places. I have heard so many horror stories about those places.

$50 for a Toyota oil change seems really good. When I purchased my car, i prepaid for my oil changes. I paid $800 for 12 oil changes (10k intervals up to 120k)....so I am paying $67 per oil change at Lexus. It is transferable and refundable (based on the remaining number of oil changes). Considering my local dealer charges $151 per oil change, I thought it was a good deal.

I grabbed a racing jack and a few rhino ramps and do it myself. I honestly am not sure what it cost these days for an oil change since I've been doing mine myself for years. I do recall years ago when I had a chevy pickup truck I used to pay $65 bucks for synthetic.

In Los Angeles, that's dirt cheap for an oil change.
