spoilers

Steve - I have this same spoiler sitting in my garage...been debating if I should paint it UW to match the car, gloss black, or leave it matte black.
I assume that the shop had to pull it off to paint it? Since it's extremely flexible, how do they paint it when it's off and straight? Doesn't the paint rip once you curve it back onto the trunk? I was thinking I should get it painted before the install, but wasn't sure how the paint would react to the curving when I do install it.

when i first got it i was upset thinking it was the wrong one. its best if you paint it first then start on one side and follow the trunks line. I didnt do the install. Someone rear endes me right when i got it so it worked out perfect when they painted my bumper they painted the spoiler and installed it. I saw on ebay they just got a new one thats smaller it kinda looks like the aim gain one. I love mine though ballin ona budget!

That smaller one is a bit small...like those universal "lip" spoilers that are always on ebay. But it's not bad too.

Here's the one that I got (and I believe Steve has too):

I was looking at those last night as well. most of the "cheaper" copies usually leave a gap. but if you buy one of those at that cost, depending on what shop you bring it to, they could probably fix it to where it fits properly and still be less than the $400 you'd pay at lexus.

That's not the OEM spoiler guys .. if you look at mine, this is the OEM spoiler I bought from LEXUS not the one in the picture above...

yo 250fsprt, I know that you have the oem one, but there are copies of it on ebay. now I know the quality isn't the same cause if I remember correctly the ones on ebay are fiberglass and the oem is probably polyurethane (reason it's way cheaper). to me, if someone wants to get the look at a cheaper cost and isn't bootlegging a brand name on it (ie furberry or folex types...haha), it's all to the good.

I agree with you CP2, what im saying the link above is not the oem version of the spoiler. ive seen better ones on EBAY that look more like the one I have on. I want him to look at mine better so he can replicate it. like this ones the OEM version of our cars from EBAY . A lot of people lie on ebay too. that's why he came here to ask us his question.

i don't have to work at a lexus dealership to know that there are actually two different oem spoilers on the 3IS. just do the research. the one i want which i pointed out is the 2014 oem design. the one you pointed out is the 2015 design, which i'm not a fan of, obviously.
