Default Issues with valves ticking?

Any one here with an 2014 IS350 having issues with loud ticking from engine? Sounds like it's coming from the engine valves. Lose valves maybe? My car only has 16k miles. But the ticking is annoying. I cant imagine the valves ticking that loud with such low miles. And it ticks even after warmed up. The oil is within normal range and still looks clean. I'm not due for an oil change for another 2k. (i change the oil every 5k).

I am considering switching to sightly higher weight oil for the summer time.

Thoughts and advises with be greatly appreciated.

Thx

it's not the valves, it's the direct injectors, they're known to be noisy.

Someone had said the car idles like a sewing machine - I found that description to be very accurate.

my car has a "ticking" noise a idle as well but it's very minimal and never concluded it would pose any motor issues.

Anything with direct injection will tick like mad. The 350 has both direct injection and port injection, so you have 12 injectors, 6 of which are really noisy...so ticking Is normal for these engines.

You could always go to a dealer and ask to listen to another IS 350 and see if it sounds similar to yours if you are really concerned about it.

The ticking goes away when you bump up the music...

As others have mentioned direct injection = ticking

Thanks for the info guys. I have been reading up on post about the ticking. I would think Lexus would have done something about it by now. Given that they have such high standards in a quiet interior. Yes, I can hear the ticking in the cabin with windows up I guess louder music it is then.

Glad mine isn't the only one.

The injector noise is pronounced outside of the car. Thankfully, it is less apparent while inside the car.

An exhaust fixes the ticking heard on the outside!

It's normal.. I found out fron 2012 model , I normal use Zmax both the engine oil and for the fuel which helps it to minimize the ticking noise and improves on my engine performance ..

Yes ticking is normal on direct injection. My 2009 Passat makes the same noise. Lucky for us on the 350 there is port injection as well so no worry about carbon build up like on the VW's and Audi's that just have direct.
