Hey guys,
Anyone have any luck plugging in the hard drive to the usb port and being able to play music from it, i tired and came up empty any advice?

if you plan on using a key bigger than 32GB I would recommend using fat32format to format the usb key before use:

How exactly are you powering a HDD in your car? Just get a large capacity USB stick for cheap. I use this
Super small profile and make sure it's formated FAT32 so the car can read it.

I echo what every one is saying here. I have no issues with a SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB Flash Drive.
I formatted it to FAT32 before copying over mp3 files. The Random setting took a little bit to figure out, but now I don't have any issues "randoming" all my songs.
