Default Brakes??

I have a 2014 IS350 F Sport, I'm at 26k miles. My brakes are squealing and scrapping. Is it time to get new brakes already? How hard is it to do on this car? I've changed brakes on other cars!

i had to change my brakes at 16,500. some members reported changing their brakes at 10k. i'm glad you were able to pull up to 26k, but i'm also concerned at the same time.. when i changed my brakes i still had a good 1/5 life left, but still even then the f sport brakes are so hard on the rotors, mine were damaged and i had to replace the rotors EFFFF! i've sinced replaced the brakes and rotors and luckily bought a new daily driver and have put at the most 3k miles on the car since the brake job.. i just bought some akebono brakes, which i hear are really good, and hopefully that will reduce the dust and prolong the life of brakes and rotors.

I had to replace mine at 20k, so 26k is amazing.

Replacing them is quite simple, there's no resetting or ECU programming since it's all hardware related.
I brought mine to a local shop and got it done for less than 80 bucks, I provided the pads of course.

Ive got nearly 33k miles in my car and was planning on cleaning and "disc break quieting" my front left set this weekend.

I've heard/felt none of the typical scratching that accompanies bad pads so that never even crossed my mine. Guess I'll be changing pads this weekend instead.

Ugh! Does anybody know what size sockets I will need? And what other tools I might need to change them? Is EBC red stuff any good?
