I had these laying around for a while and finally have time to install this weekend.
When I opened the package, there were no directions...

I checked on Sewell remember seeing directions in PDF format, but their site has been shut down.

Anyone out there have the PDF or is able to point me in the right direction to install the door sills?
Was hoping to do it this weekend -_-

If could make one suggestion I would dump the T-tap connectors it comes with and pick up some posi-tap connectors instead.

Nothing wrong with them, just the way they're shaped it seems to be out of place rather than have a more fluid design probably.

After a bit of wire concealment, everything looks fantastic.
Getting lots and lots of compliments.

I also did the interior with blue LED lights and for the accents.

Just installed the door sills recently, chose not to disconnect the battery and had no issues that way.

Definitely one of those things that's a little tricky the first time installing, but doing it a second time would take all of 5 minutes. Wonder what the dealer would charge for this quick install.

Dealer charges $350 about 2-3 hrs labor for this.

You're right, took a while to figure it out since it was just splicing involved.
All you have to do is splice one of the footwell lights.

What I was actually thinking about doing was splice another section of the door light, lead it back to the passenger doors.
Unfortunately I haven't found any door sills that will accommodate this.

Wow too expensive, the dealer installs these all the time. Surprised they would charge that much for something that will take no longer than 10 min to complete, but that's a car dealership for ya.

When shopping for my car, another dealership had my color combo with the door sills on already, but would not come within $800 of the bottom price of the other dealer's final price offer. So of course I bought the car without the door sills, and then bought/installed them myself.

As for disconnecting the battery, I think they tell you that for safety reasons like getting shocked. But you can run into way more problems disconnecting a battery in itself, so I chose not to do that.

How easy was it to get to the wires needed to tap into?

The left side had some digging to find the purple wire, but very doable. Right side is then very easy once learning how to complete the left.

You can tap the lavender/light purple wire from either the molex connector or wire tap from the foot well.
Basically, all you're doing is sharing current from a power source, once done it's concealing.
Removal of the door components is very easy, disregarding the gooey black stuff they leave in there.
A simple wipe of water and alcohol cleans it right off.

When you do this, try the driver side first, because once you get it done, the passenger side is as easy as scratching your butt.

waxy and glo6035, so you didn't disconnect the battery as per Sewell's instructions? I also bought the illuminated door sills for 3IS but did't find the chance to install it. Time to do it after the nasty winter.

In the past, Lexus illuminated door sills were just plug and play without ANY re-wiring (example - 2011 RX). Then they made it difficult so that some people would be scared off and let the dealership does the work which costs too much labor.
