yeah that doesn't seem right, usually idle is at 800 or lower.. i would get that inspected soon. its common for it to idle around that range or higher when its a cold start.. but you mentioned once you returned home so the car would have been warmed up and the idle should sit lower.

I'm assuming it's not throwing any codes. I'm going to throw vacuum leak as my first guess. Get it checked OP.

Sounds like a cold start - itll hold it there for a while.

No check engine lights, nothing to really check out. Vacuum leaks trigger real time / stored gross evap leaks. It is all computer controlled and does what it needs to do.

If it helps I have the same car in WA and mine does not do that...
I would have the dealer/warranty take a look.

Is this on the '06 IS350 listed in your profile? If so, you may consider asking this question in the 2IS forum. Granted we have the same engine in the 3IS, but you'll find higher mileage examples and people with more experience with the engine in that forum.

Temps in WA have been above normal, 55-60 degrees most days, My 15 350 was sitting for a week and I drove it last night. Idle at 800 after warmup, came home, put her in park, idle at 800.

If cold out Iam sure it goes into cold start mode but after warm up should be fine.

If the car is still cold and not fully warmed up it will idle at hire than 1000. I have a 2IS and I could drive to the store on a cold start (when i am in a rush) and when I put it back in park it still idles at 1k-1200 rpms. Doesn't really drop until its really warmed up.

Question to the OP is does it do this after its fully warmed up or just after getting into the car and driving. Not Temperature outside warm but Oil temp in the middle warm
