service advice 350F sport
So my car has 15K miles and its due for the service as stated by the dealer.
The service is $199.00 and includes
Typical safety inspection.
Tire rotate ( which i can not do because of stagger)
New wiper inserts
Top off fluids
Reset message indicator for service due
Inspect air filter ( parts extra)
Inspect brakes ( parts extra if needed)
So my question is.....
This seems like a lot of money for new wiper blades, would you guys skip this and wait for the 20K service where at least I get an oil change too?
The dealer is really adamant ( told my wife when she spoke with them) that I could possibly void some warranty if I neglect the car from a service standpoint.
I figure they are bullying my wife because she is obviously a woman and likely doesn't know any better regarding cars.
What you guys say?

I probably won't go back to do services in the dealership after the 10k service, unless it's warranty issues. That's totally up to you. If you feel like going to another dealership to do your service, why not try if they'll treat you better.

Just to add onto the question.. After the 10k service If you decide to take it to your own place, do you follow lexus recommended service or do you just ask for an oil change every 5k miles and an occasional tire balance/alignment? Then breaks and tires whenever the mechanic sees they need to be replaced?

Some places do the full inspection. If in doubt, you can have the lexus service list on hand and ask the shop to go through the list. I don't really know how "good" lexus maintenance service is, but IMO they are more official, if you get what I'm saying.

+1 I would do the oil change and inspect it myself. If you really want the shop to do the whole service, look into a reputable Lexus/Toyota alternative to save money.

If a dealership said this to me or any of my family members i would put them on blast and never use them again. Google the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act and make sure you shove it in the face of the service manager. I always reset the message myself and get an oil change every 10k as well alignment when needed. Anything else (like fluid checks and wiper refill) can be done yourself.
I think ill skip the 15K and wait for the 20K and hit up a different Lexus dealer that wont try to intimidate a female when she takes the car in for service.

Are the in-between oil change visits required for the warranty? If you inspect it yourself, obviously, you don't have paperwork proving you did so. Could there be an issue in the future if there's a warranty item? I've found an indy shop that I will probably use at regular maintenance intervals and will have paperwork proof for those.
I'm coming up on my 15,000 mile mark like the OP.
